This is the midpoint in my journey through marketing. At this point I have completed my practicum, and am working on the second part of the marketing plan. These team projects have helped me grasp a deeper understanding of applied marketing, as well as improve team skills which are vital in business.
The practicum my group preformed was based on Customer- Driven marketing strategy. I believe applying the concept of value proposition, positioning, differentiation, and target markets was vital in the next step of our marketing plan. As I completed quizzes or questions I felt like I was at the surface of the concepts. Once I applied the concepts to an actual product and an actual plan I said “aha” this is what is really means, allowing me to gain a deep understanding. I think the concepts from the chapters, as well as concepts I have included in my blog are helping me build the marketing plan. I think every concept is ultimately going to help me revise what I though marketing to be.
I believe I have strong mental connections with the concepts and have used them in my projects. I think I need to strengthen my narrow mind when it comes to concept. Everything is such a broad topic that applies to numerous industries, I need to reflect more about how it affects each area of marketing. I tend to look at things singly when they all are pieces to launching a successful product.
At the beginning of this course marketing was a core class I had to take. Now, as I reflect on what I have done at the midpoint in the semester I see myself excited about the concepts. I am even considering it as a path for a career. I hope to continue to understand concepts and share them on my blog with all of you. Marketing is a vital, and I hope you are enjoying my journey as I embark through new paths in marketing.
